After Tunisia drove longtime President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali from office in December 2010, a wave of unrest in the Middle East and northern Africa. By the beginning of February, unrest had spread to Jordan, Lebanon, Sudan, and Egypt, where president Hosni Mubarak was the next to go.
